Irritable Bowel Syndrome Diet

Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS, is more widespread than we might suppose. The main symptom of IBS is abdominal pain and cramps after eating. A sufferer may also experience diarrhea, constipation, gas or bloating. Sometimes mucous may be seen in the feces. These symptoms usually are ongoing for at least 90 days before an IBS diagnosis is considered by a medical doctor. For this diagnosis, the symptoms are present in spite of the absence of true structural damage to the intestines. A lot of imagination is required in writing. People may think that writing on IBS - Irritable Bowel Syndrome is very easy; on the contrary, knowledge and imagination has to be merged to create an interesting composition.

However, Irritable Bowel Syndrome does not deal with chemical interactions alone. It is basically a functional disorder that borders more on the abnormalities of functions that don't often project actual or physical complications. In fact, this is the exact reason why the nature of the disease is not yet fully known. Add to it the fact that most factors involved are under subjective details, which also require subjective treatments. This alone is enough to conclude why there is lack of concrete knowledge on the true characteristics of the syndrome. This article has been written with the intention of showing some illumination to the meaning of IBS - Irritable Bowel Syndrome. This is so that those who don't know much about IBS - Irritable Bowel Syndrome can learn more about it.

When diarrhea is present, recommended over the counter irritable bowel syndrome remedies may include an anti-diarrhea product like Immodium or Kaopectate. These products may reduce diarrhea, but researchers have found that they do not relieve other symptoms such as stomach ache and bloating. Both aloe and slippery elm have an anti-inflammatory effect which may relieve stomach ache. Bloating and gas may be relieved by antacids, anti-gas products or an herbal remedy. Irritable bowel syndrome remedies made from herbs and botanicals often include several ingredients (several different herbs and plants) in an attempt to relieve all of the symptoms of IBS. Gastronic Dr. is one such herbal remedy.

And I can't thing of a more untouchable issue than IBS, something that no-one in the public eye would readily admit to. Can you imagine Julia Roberts standing up and saying 'Diarrhea is the blight of my life and hemorrhoids have driven me to drink'? No, of course not, because anything remotely digestive is considered highly embarrassing and distinctly unglamorous.Reading is a habit that has to be cultivated from a small age. Only if one has the habit of reading can one acquire more knowledge on things like IBS - Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Mina also found that dietary change helped control her symptoms, alongside traditional medication: 'I've made a number of changes to my diet. I've eliminated milk and mostly any dairy, fried foods, sugar for the most part, pop, alcohol, potato chips, spicy food, rice, pasta and bread. Most recently I'm eliminating flour. But my best friend for the last couple of years has been Imodium Quick Dissolve tablets. I don't ever leave home without them. I just have to make sure I don't overdo it. If I ever become immune to the wonder drug I am gonna be a real mess!'The length of an article is rather immaterial about its response from people. What causes IBS? What causes one person to have IBS and not another? No one knows. Symptoms cannot be traced to a single organic cause. I had IBS well I guess I still have it but it doesn't really bother me anymore. IBS is a relative new condition,it was discovered among college athletes. A study was done and found that for years college football teams would have to deal with some of their players getting sick just before games. They found that these players would get very nervous or excited before games and have serious stomach pains but that they would originate lower on the body then that of a common stomach ache. Myself I started getting these pains when I worked at a very stressful job. The doctor first prescribed to me Zoloft and to increase my fiber intake. Well the study that was done with the college athletes and what I found to work the best was to reduce my stress and the increase in fiber. A colon cleanse can give you temporary relief but I think reducing the stress is the most important.
